Leading a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for West Central Vermont
The federally designated West Central Vermont Economic Development District (WCVT EDD) serves the following counties: Addison, Chittenden, Orange, Rutland, and Washington. Economic Development Districts help lead locally-based, regionally driven economic development that leverages the involvement of the public, private, and non-profit sectors according to the economic development roadmap laid out in a CEDS.
A CEDS - or a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy - is a strategy-driven plan for regional economic development. A CEDS is the result of a regionally-led planning process designed to build capacity, support local initiatives, and develop economic resiliency.
Our CEDS will strengthen local economic partnerships within West Central Vermont (Addison County, Chittenden County, Rutland County, Washington County and part of Orange County) and enable our region to meet current and anticipated economic challenges.
